General dentists prevent, evaluate, diagnose, and treat diseases of the oral cavity, as well as maintain the function and appearance of the teeth. Many oral diseases and abnormalities can indicate other diseases. A general dentist may refer patients to their physician or a specialist for further evaluation, or vice versa for treatment.

In-lays-&-On-lays
Inlays and onlays are dental repair techniques frequently used to restore and strengthen damaged teeth.
What are Inlays and onlays?
Inlays and onlays are small inserts that are bonded in or on damaged teeth. Inlays and onlays are custom-made from composite, porcelain or metal and are designed to reconstruct and repair damaged teeth.
Inlay
When the top of a damaged tooth requires strengthening, an inlay is a specially made insert that is bonded into the centre of the tooth.
Onlay
For teeth that have been damaged or fractured, an onlay can be applied to the exterior of the tooth, reinforcing its strength and limiting further damage.
What is the treatment for an Inlay or onlay?
Your dentist will first administer a local anaesthetic and then begin preparing the tooth to be treated. When all the damaged or decayed parts of the tooth have been removed, a dental impression of the tooth will then be taken.
Your inlay or onlay will then be made by our selected specialist dental lab to exactly fit the space in the prepared tooth. During your next appointment, the insert is positioned and then permanently bonded in place. To complete the tooth restoration, the surface is then smoothed and polished for a comfortable bite and a pleasing aesthetic result.
